Three from Lanier Law Firm Named to List of New York’s Top Women Attorneys

Firm lawyers recognized for work in class actions, cases involving dangerous products

NEW YORK – Three attorneys from the New York office of The Lanier Law Firm have been named to the list of Top Women Attorneys in New York by the editors of Super Lawyers. The complete list was published in the March 26 edition of The New York Times.

Firm attorneys Catherine Heacox, Zarah Levin-Fragasso and Melissa Nafash earned spots on the list based on their work for plaintiffs injured by dangerous pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, as well as their representation of plaintiffs in complex civil litigation involving mass tort actions and environmental injury matters. Each had previously been named to the list of 2016 New York Metro Super Lawyers, which is comprised of no more than 5 percent of the eligible attorneys in the region.

The list of Top Women Attorneys is based on a multi-tiered research process involving nominations from other lawyers, independent research and additional evaluation by a blue-ribbon panel of attorneys in the same practice areas.

In 2016, the Lanier Law Firm recorded two high-profile verdicts in medical device litigation, with the awards totaling more than $1.5 billion. The firm was named as one of the nation’s 25 Most Influential Law Firms for 2017 by the National Trial Lawyers Association. The firm was also recognized by U.S. News/Best Law Firms as a National Tier 1 practice in Mass Torts and Class Actions, and by Legal 500 in its national ranking of top firms in Medical Device and Pharmaceutical litigation.

The firm is composed of outstanding trial attorneys with decades of experience handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, asbestos exposure, commercial litigation, product liability, maritime law, and sports and entertainment law.
