Nahid A. Shaikh is an associate of The Lanier Law Firm in the New York Office. She practices in the area of Asbestos Litigation.
Ms. Shaikh was born in Brooklyn, New York. While in high school, Ms. Shaikh conducted scientific research at Cornell University and participated in many distinguished science competitions. Some of her most acclaimed scientific recognitions were First Place among the top 10 research projects at the New York Science and Engineering Fair, Third in the World in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and Highest Honors in Botany at the Otto Burgdorf Student Science Research and Writing Competition. She began college at sixteen years of age at The University of Miami, where she was awarded the George E. Merrick Scholarship for Academic Achievement. Ms. Shaikh earned a Bachelors of Science in Economics, a double major in Public Relations, and a minor in Marketing. In 2014, Ms. Shaikh graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law magna cum laude and in the top 5% of her class. Ms. Shaikh was also selected for membership of Order of the Coif, a national scholastic honor society in law. While at Cardozo, Ms. Shaikh was a member of the Cardozo Law Review. During her fall semester of her 3L year, Ms. Shaikh served as full-time judicial intern for a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Ms. Shaikh was published in the Fall 2014 New York State Bar Association Health Law Journal for her paper, “EHRs: A Prescription for Privacy Breach.” Ms. Shaikh is currently admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
