Personal Background

Abigail Harris joined the firm in 2024 following her graduation from law school. She is from Nashville, Tennessee. Abigail went to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for undergrad where she majored in Political Science and graduated summa cum laude, the highest honor.

Following undergrad, Abigail decided to pursue her passion for law and attended New England Law in Boston, Massachusetts as a part of the US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program, ultimately graduating in the top 14% of her class. Abigail was an associate writer for the New England Law Review where she submitted a case comment for publication. While in law school, her main focus was on international and national security law. She worked alongside her Law of Armed Conflict professor to draft a piece titled “Contemporary Issues Facing International Law: The Downfalls of High Sea Governance.” She also spent a semester researching and writing on the need for regulation of artificial intelligence and new technologies as it pertains to the law of armed conflict.

Abigail spent her last semester of law school in Washington, D.C. where she worked at the Pentagon for the United States Navy within their National Security Law Division. Here, she worked alongside policymakers to draft the first international code to govern autonomous vessels. She also single-handedly prepared position papers on behalf of the United States that were utilized at the International Maritime Organization’s 2024 session.

Abigail spent a semester interning at the United States Attorney’s Office and for a judge at the Suffolk County Massachusetts Superior Court, both in the heart of Boston. She also worked for the United States Air Force’s legal office in Charleston, S.C for a summer. In her early legal years, she clerked for the Tennessee Attorney General, and a personal injury law firm in Nashville.

In her free time, Abigail loves experiencing all things outdoors with her two golden retrievers, cheering on the Volunteers, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
