Business Litigation

The Lanier Law Firm’s experienced team of business litigators helps businesses large and small in high stakes “bet the company” cases. Our vast experience across a variety of industries and our flexible fee arrangements set us apart from other law firms.

Business litigation can be complex and industry-specific. An experienced business litigation attorney is familiar with diverse areas of law who has a team and resources to go “toe-to-toe” with the largest law firms in the world. Lanier Law Firm has that expertise and capability.

Our business litigation team includes attorneys with experience in the following areas among others:

This list is just a small subset of the types of litigation that The Lanier Law Firm’s legal team has handled. We’ve represented multiple clients in billion-dollar lawsuits. When a larger business tries to take advantage of a smaller business using illegal methods, we step in to seek justice for our clients.

Why You Need a Business Litigation Attorney from The Lanier Law Firm

Litigation can be devastating for your business. It can also save a business. For example, you put in years of time and money to develop a product, and then someone steals it from you or illegally shares it with another company. There is no way for you to compete in that situation; you can only recover by winning a business litigation lawsuit.

The attorneys at The Lanier Law Firm have handled cases like this before. Not only do we have the experience to prove that another party has illegally breached a contract or cheated your business, but we also have the skills to recover each and every loss you’ve suffered as a result.

Importantly, YOU set the litigation goals at the outset, and we aggressively pursue them until they are met. In other words, our clients decide what “success” would be, not us.

Oil and Gas Industry Law

Oil and Gas Industry Law

One important area that a number of our attorneys have experience with is oil and gas disputes. Many clients near our Houston office need attorneys who understand the industry without needing the terminology explained to them. Our team has the knowledge needed to make your lawsuits go smoothly.

Our Proven Record of Success

Our team has won cases or negotiated settlements for:

  • Represented businesses in lawsuits filed against group purchasing organizations over allegations of anticompetitive business practices that restrained fair market competition.
  • Trial counsel for a pharmaceutical company in a multibillion-dollar action related to prior qui tam litigation. A confidential settlement, satisfactory to our client, was reached immediately prior to trial.
  • Served as lead counsel for a company’s breach of contract and breach of faith and fair dealing claims against a competitor in multiyear and multivenue litigation. A confidential settlement was reached on the eve of trial.
  • Negotiated a precedent setting settlement during the second week of trial for a national trade group and several large U.S. manufacturers regarding a false promotion and unfair competition lawsuit.
  • Represented a key leader in the oil and gas industry with respect to his ownership interest of a very successful exploration company in South Texas.
