For the ninth consecutive year, Mark Lanier has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America” by the editors of Benchmark Litigation. The prestigious guide to the nation’s finest litigators uses attorney surveys, client-based research and a review of recent casework in developing the annual list. The firm is among 20 Texas litigation firms designated as “recommended.”
According to the publication’s research:
Unanimous credit for the firm’s market standing is given to its founder and namesake, lead partner Mark Lanier, considered a one-of-a-kind ace trial lawyer who is revered by all peers and opponents. “Mark was the first among equals who got into this world,” confirms a peer (and frequent opponent). “He is so talented – his name and presence carry a lot of value. He is a plaintiff that, when he’s against me, I say, ‘OK… it’s on!’” Another confides, “It is brutal to go against Mark Lanier. He is so good, he bonds with the jury, he is amazing in court and has huge influence. Mark is universally revered, and his fans run just as deep on the defense side as among other plaintiffs.”
In addition to the Top 100 honor, Mr. Lanier is named by the publication as a Litigation Star in the practice areas of Commercial Litigation and Toxic Tort Litigation, while the firm is “Recommended” among Texas firms in the practice area of Dispute Resolution.
Cumulatively, Mr. Lanier has garnered nearly $20 billion in verdicts during his highly acclaimed career. Most recently, he secured an $8 million verdict on behalf of the families of two men who died of mesothelioma resulting from lengthy exposure to asbestos-contaminated vermiculite in a rail yard in Libby, Montana.
